At MAWA, the priority of strays is of the utmost importance. We adhere to our mottos which are:

We Protect – To fight for the animal rights Currently,

MAWA has more than 180 stray dogs managed in a small space. All the dogs were either rescued either from a puppy or as sick and abandoned by the owner. MAWA believes in giving second chance to the strays. Besides managing the rescue work,

MAWA is also approaching local councils and other relevant departments to work closely to find a permanent solution. Besides government agencies, we also work with housing boards to assist in handling stray issues. We believe the issues on strays can be solved when the NPO and relevant government agencies collaborate.

Our Needs

Short Term Needs - Relocation of current shelter at Sungai Long, Kajang to Hulu Langat The estimated cost for relocation is RM90,000. Currently, we are seeking public donations to build the new shelter to relocate the existing shelter. The access to the current shelter is only during the daytime and it is not safe to be at the shelter after 7 pm. The road access to the shelter also is rough. The new shelter will be a bigger space that can accommodate more rescued dogs and for the public to visit. The estimated cost includes the below scope:
1) Land Clearance

2) Access Road

) Water pump

4) Electricity Supply

5) Building of Shelter (Workmanship)

6) Material purchased for construction

7) Sewage and Drainage System

We continue looking forward to getting support and assistance from the public to successfully complete the relocation project.

We also encourage the public to either take donate cash or sponsor any of the above-mentioned items by paying the respective vendor directly.

We are seeking support on food supplies in the form of material or cash.

Most often we request donors to buy the supplies from our panel vendor for us instead of cash. We hope to receive support from you and your team for us to continue operating.
